The UBMJC was established for the purpose of uniting uniquely Messianic Jewish congregations within the United Kingdom. The founding members of this organisation recognised the need for a representative body which would speak to, and for, the issues which form the basis of Messianic Judaism.
Our congregations are committed to the precepts of Messianic Judaism as a unique first century expression of faith in the Messiah Yeshua, as it has been re-established by God since the early 1970s, and as part of God's end-time plan to restore the people of Israel to their land and to Himself.
Our identity is clearly distinguished by a Messianic Jewish lifestyle, following the traditions of our Jewish people as they find fulfilment and fruition through the Scriptures. We are committed to the celebration of the Biblical Jewish holy days and holidays, including worship on Shabbat, and identify with the lifecycle events of Judaism from b'rit milah (circumcision) to death and mourning. We believe that in all of these things we are following closely in the footsteps of Yeshua's talmidim (disciples) and the Messianic congregations of the first century.
